Lesson for an Ungrateful Man
You, blue eyes
You with religious skin
and eyelashes, springing
from your face;
Don't be so hasty
to think I won't leave you
after you belittle me
chokingly, when in public.
I yearn for a you and me
that people envy,
where you, respect
and smile and kiss
and aren't so excited by
the bubbling prospect of a
pint, that pulling pint
that pulls me away from you
and draws me harder,
more resilient and in
love with someone new.
